We decided after much discussion that we would live on base. Moving is
freaking expensive and needing furniture and not having to put deposits
down on a base house made it the obvious choice. At this base there are
SEVERAL different areas of housing all being built at different times so
there is old housing, new housing and everything in between. We opted
for older housing and we're actually so happy that we did. Our neighbor
is quiet, we have the bay literally behind our home, we have the most
amazing trees in our front lawn, and we just don't have to bother with
all the kids and traffic that the newer housing areas deal with since
everyone wants to live there. Our home is small, but it forced me to go
through boxes that we haven't opened in years from previous moves. We
don't have a garage or a laundry room but those aren't things that will
kill us. We're happy with our choice even if others think we're crazy
but hey we're pocketing part of our BAH and they're not so yet another
plus in our column! Here's our house :) Don't judge, its cozy and
perfect for a little family like ours!

Hello Florida!
We have since moved from Italy, the only home Nathan has ever known and now live in the Panhandle of Florida. Its taken a bit to get use to being back in the states. Its taken awhile for our little man to adjust and realize this is now home, but he finally understands this is where we live. Thankfully. He misses his friends and everything he knew deeply and it hurt me to see him struggle through that. Since moving back though we try to keep him busy with different activities and we love to go out and explore our new surroundings. We have discovered we live in a tourist town and I guess its a popular place for spring break so that should be interesting! We are getting ready to experience our first spring break here this year and we'll probably learn not to go over the bridge during certain times of the year if its as wild and crazy as I believe it might be! I am interested to see the chaos once though, I mean who wouldn't be?
This song ya'll is about where we live just to give you an idea!
We have gone out and explored a bit. We took Nathan to ZooWorld here and was a bit disappointed by that. Its nothing like the zoos I grew up with and we're definitely happy we went on dollar day otherwise its way too pricey for what it is! I mean even the Houston Zoo (which is HUGE compared to this place) is cheaper to get into! Check out some pics from our day! It was hot and little man ended up not feeling too well but he ended up loving it and got to see some bears wrestle :)
We also went to Ripley's Believe It or Not! and that was actually pretty darn neat. We went with one of the hubby's coworkers and his family. I wouldn't really say its a place for young children but if you have older ones I think they'd get a kick out of it! And then we walked across the street to WonderWorks and that place is stinking neat! Again not somewhere I'd take young children but would definitely take older ones. We had a lot of fun and I'm super glad we checked them both out!

Its Been a Year!
I can't believe its been a year since the last time I posted! I guess I got caught up in life and forgot that I was blogging! I mean I know ya'll have just been dying to know how our little family is doing and to see pictures of the most adorable little man in the world! I can't believe I didn't even post pictures for his 2nd birthday party! I will def have to do that tomorrow for ya'll to see how much fun he had at his Thomas the Train themed birthday party. It was his last one in Italy. In the past year we said our good byes to living overseas and we are now back stateside in Florida. Part of the reason I quit blogging was to get in the swing of things for the move. I mean you know how it is you have to organize figure out what you can live without for a few months, figure out how to pack your life into a suitcase because that is what you'll be living out of for the next several weeks, and figure out how you're going to entertain a two year old while all his toys are going to be packed away for a good 2 months! Well we survived it all and have been stateside starting our new adventure for about 7 months now. Florida is different. Its hot. We had no snow this year! None! And I can wear a flip-flops and my toes will NEVER freeze, ok so I enjoy that part but I do miss colder weather. This is definitely not the Florida ya'll see on t.v. either so we were a bit disappointed, but its still beautiful and we learned the hard way September is jellyfish month so stay OUT of the water. I'm sure as we adjust to being back in the states we'll grow to love and miss this place as we do all the places we call home, but until then I want some damn snow!
Here is a mix of pics from the last year! Enjoy!!
(pics to come tomorrow or monday :) )
