Book Review: Words to Dream On

Words to Dream On
Bedtime Bible Stories and Prayers
By Diane Stortz
I completely forgot that we were getting this book to review until it showed up on my doorstep this afternoon. It was a nice surprise when we opened box and saw this book. At first sight it is an absolutely gorgeous book and when you open it up the illustrations are absolutely gorgeous and definitely kept both mine and my son's attention. He absolutely loves bedtime because he gets to read his Bible stories with his daddy and is excited to have another one to add to their little library. This book is just stories and does not cover everything that a Bible would so keep that in mind. It is split up by old and new testament. Each story begins with the chapter and verses that the story is being told from. There is a Bible verse to accompany the story and then the story is told and it is ended with a bedtime blessing. The stories are not long maybe 2-3 pages depending on the story and the bedtime blessings are super short usually no more than a line and super easy for the little ones to read and remember. I would definitely recommend this book to others and we will definitely be keeping it and I know my boys will truly enjoy adding it to their collection.

Review Clean Slate

Clean Slate

I am not entirely sure what I was expecting when I choose this book for review but it hasn't really met my expectations. It is a great cookbook for those who are starting to eat better but a lot of the recipes are ones you would expect. The book is excellent overall and the pictures are stunning but you wouldn't expect anything less from the editors of Martha Stewart Living. I will admit its not one of my favorite cookbooks or one that I will probably grab in the future. If you are a fan of anything with Martha Stewart then this book would be one for you but for me I'll stick to my tried and true.

Citrus Lane: January Box

Citrus Lane: January 2015 Box

So we have been getting Nathan Citrus Lane Boxes for a few months now and we have been overall pretty happy with them. He has gotten some really great puzzles, books, snacks, and other various items but for the month of January was it just me or did it kind of really suck?

These two items are definitely cute and I am glad that they added colored pencils and something to use them with but honestly not too crazy about the placemats. The pad is kind of large to carry around with you and there really is no need for coloring placements at home.
These I will admit were pretty darn neat BUT they only give you 20! With only 20 of these pieces there isn't much you can do. It was kind of a pointless set to have and I ended up giving it away to another friend who happens to get these boxes so that at least one kid could have a few more pieces to try to actually do something with.
They also included a sample to these vitamins which Nathan seemed to enjoy but we won't be getting them again as I don't want my child thinking that vitamins are candy as you can have too much of a good thing. The last thing they included in the box was a card for Fabletics which was awful to add as an item to the box since you can find that same deal anywhere on the internet. If I had paid full price for this box I would have been even more upset about the items in the box. It was by far the worst and you'd think they want to start the year out with a bang! I did buy this box on my own with coupons I found online.

Review: The Beginner's Bible Come Celebrate Easter Sticker & Activity Book

The Beginner's Bible Come Celebrate Easter Sticker & Activity Book
By Kelly Pulley

We just received this activity book in the mail yesterday and I have sat down this morning and went over it. It is a very simple book which is great for younger children. The pages are beautifully written as well as the illustrations being well done and bright and color for the children. The stickers look like they match wonderfully. This will definitely be a fun and engaging workbook for my son, but I have chosen not to give it to him until it is actually closer to Easter. The only complaint I have about this book is the type of paper that the coloring pages are on. I think that using markers on those pages will get messy and will not dry the way they normally should. I would definitely recommend this activity book to others and would definitely get similar ones for my son in the future. I truly look forward to working with my son with this activity book.
