I want to be the mommy...

I want to be the mommy who makes her baby boy the most beautiful cakes for his birthdays, special events, and holidays. I know that I've never done anything for the wow factor but more for the taste factor, but I'm going to try to add the wow factor to the taste factor as well. I don't want to be the mommy that goes to the store unless absolutely necessary to buy his cakes. With all this being said I already have a cake in mind (well two) that should be rather easy or at least in theory!

I really want to make a special and beautiful cake for our adoption day. I want to celebrate our adoption day as the most wonderful and amazing day that it is. I really want to make a frog cake. From the minute we found out we were having a boy a froggy theme just seemed to fall in place with him. I mean down to the point that when we went to the hospital to pick him that he had froggy blankets in his bassinet there too! His crib here also has a froggy theme set.

I have found this super cute froggy cake that I'm going to attempt to make...well I'm going to do a trial run of course and hope for the best! I am currently desparately looking for a butter cream frosting to decorate with. I found one and it was like soup. Seriously how anyone ever put that out there to work with I'll ever know why and to actually say it was good oh heck no!

Well here is a picture of the cake I'm going to attempt.

I am super excited about this cake and think it will be a wonderful way to celebrate our official adoption day!

I also am already thinking of the cake I want to do for his birthday. I think I'm going to do something extra simple and do a bug themed birthday party with an inchworm cake! It is totally cute and radio flyer has this super cute ride on inchworm that I'd want to get him as his gift! I love themes and making everything match LOL. I know its not as eleborate as the froggy cake but I still just love the simplicity of it for some reason and I just may spruce it up a bit as well :) Here is the super simple inchworm cake.

Happy Father's Day!

Fathers Day Banner Pictures, Images and Photos

It is officially Father's Day in Italy! I am so excited!!! I got the hubby the cutest 1st Father's Day Card ever from the bx! I was so excited they actually had one! I just need to get baby boy to sign it and yes he can sign them even if its just some scribbles. We had him sign all the Mother's Day cards for the grandma's and it was so cute to see our little man with the man and just scribbling in the cards. It was actually hard to get the pen out of his hand!

The hubby already got his Father's Day gift early. I let him pick it out on his own because I just didn't know what to get him and why not let him pick out his own gift! Tomorrow we are going on base for the Father's Day Brunch and I'm so excited. I guess I'm just totally excited about this being the hubby's first Father's Day ever! I know I know he'll have many more but never a first one again! Its just so special to see him with his little man. I think we are both just so happy about everything that our hearts could burst!

We have been truly blessed with the most amazing little man ever. I really don't think God could have created a better little person. Our lives are just so full and happy now (not that we weren't before!), but he really does help complete our little family! We do hope one day that he'll have a brother or sister but that's down the road from now.

Anywho I wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!!!!!

Cloth Diapers

I know I know I'm nuts right? Well I don't think I am LOL. Yes, we are seriously using cloth diapers and we love them. They are super cute and super soft and even baby boy loves them. We decided long before he arrived that we would be using them and I'm glad we decided too. We are saving big bucks and helping our little man. We used disposables for all the traveling we did and he had a really bad reaction to them and as soon as I changed him over to cloth you could see the icky rash start to go away immediately (another reason I'm in love with them). We have spent under 140 dollars in diapers and will not have to pay a cent more. How many people can say that and we can use them for another child saving us literally thousands of dollars!

They really weren't as nasty as I'd thought they'd be. Granted they are a bit more work with a pre soak, rinse, wash, and another rinse to make sure they are clean. Sometimes you need to strip them to keep the stinkies away, but after seeming the nasty reaction my little one had from the diapers its highly unlikely he'll where a disposable one again. (maybe for long travels). Anywho here are some pics of our diapers oh and links in case you want to order some as well :)

Nubunz Cloth Diapers these are American made and about $10 bucks a diaper. They do have a cheaper one that is about $8 bucks a diaper but I haven't tried those yet.

Luv Your Baby is cheaper and my favorite. These are about $7 bucks a diaper and free shipping! We can use these as night time diapers and they don't leak through where the Nubunz do but those are great daytime diapers :) We are using the all in one snaps and just looooove them!

These are the Kawaii brand from the Luv Your Baby website. I still need to take one of him the nubunz (I have two one with snaps and one with velcro and velcro is super easy and nice!).
