Venice

Today we went to Venice, Italy and let me tell you this place is amazing! There is so much to see, so much to buy, and just so much of everything. Its bigger than I thought it would be. You could walk around and get lost in the alleys and going over bridges for days!!! I thought we were never going to get back to the train station at one point!!

We walked overed so many bridges it was amazing and some of the alleys were so small I had to walk single file behind Jerry. And in these hundreds of alley ways are stores and more stores and then a few more stores. If you love to shop this is definitely the place for you! I thought at first it was going to be just all this touristy stuff, but let me tell you I found the designer alley! Roberto Cavali, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Chanel, and so so much more! Only if I had that kind of money!

My favorite part of my whole day was my gondola ride! Yes, I said gondola ride! It was so cool!!!! We got to ride down the Grand Canal which is huge and the guy operating the thing pointed out a lot of cool old sites. Its amazing how old the history is over here and what a baby country the U.S. really is.

And don't worry we didn't forget to go to St. Mark's Square and it was simply amazing. Like I couldn't believe my eyes. It was so beautiful (except for the pigeons I can't stand those things). We didn't go inside any of them this time (but next time we def will), but to just stand in the square and take everything is was enough.

I don't know what I was expecting when we finally reached Venice, but it was so much better than I would have ever thought! I can't wait for our family and friends to start visiting so we can take them there to see the sites. I'm posting pics below of some of the things we saw! I'm not posting all my pics cause I took over like a hundred pics! You all know I have a tendency to go over board!

We went a marketing AGAIN!!

Today we went to an open air market in Sacile. Its a really cute little town and we really enjoyed walking around and taking in the sites (not to mention the shopping!). I took a few pics and decided that I want my home on a canal now. The water is this pretty greenish blue color that comes from the mountains and you get to have a boat at your back door! How cool is that?!?! Well maybe not in your world but in mine its amazingly cool LOL!!

We did go to the market with a couple of our new friends and with us was an amazingly fun two year old! We stopped at one of the fresh produce stands and had strawberries, we stopped in at a local pizza place for a slice, and of course had to end it all with gelato! As you can see from our new little friend it was amazingly yummy!!

Of course I couldn't go to the market and buy nothing! I ended up buying a couple of murano glass necklaces (for mothers day and one for me of course!) and a new purse (surprise right?!?!). I really need to stop buying purses but there are so many stands with so many cute purses and I must own them all!! Below is a pick of my newest one! I still haven't carried all of the new ones I have gotten, so I think I'm going to have to restrain myself from buying another one until I carry all the ones I have now!

I am officially addicted to the open air markets of Italy. I don't know what I'll do with myself once I'm back in the states, so far I have three things I'm going to miss gelato, Fanta, and the markets. Things I'm not going to miss the language barrier, the pizza, and the driving!

Open Air Markets

Italy is known for their open air markets. Each town has one on a different day of the week, so there is always one to go to.

On Saturday we went to the Pordenone one. Pordenone is the biggest town near us and I believe they have the biggest market. It was huge!! I loved it. They have all sorts of things to buy. Especially clothes. Like tons and tons of clothes at very reasonable prices. As well as purses (my personal favorite). There is fresh fruit, shoes, and well probably anything you could think of was there.

We brought a couple that just got here with us and they loved every minute of it as well. When we were done and tired and hungry we took them out for Doner Kebabs which they loved almost as much as the hubby does!!

While at the market I did buy two purses! Check out my picks below! I love them and there were so many more that I wanted! I'm sure I'll leave here with more purses than anything else we own!!

Today being Monday meant that another town was having their open air market and of course we decided to check theirs out as well. It was smaller but still much bigger than our towns (Aviano has theirs on Tuesdays and its tiny!). The town we went to today was Maniago. It was a decent size one and they had tons and tons of things to choose from (except they didn't have food!!!).

I did buy a few things from here as well! I got two rings and a pashimina shaw in black! Its so pretty. Check out the pics below!!
